Here at Shocklach Church of England Primary School, our Christian ethos is an extremely important part of our everyday lives in school. As well as our own staff incorporating prayers and worship into school’s daily assemblies, we also have a close relationship with Reverends Tim and Norma Robinson, who come in regularly to hold interesting and informative collective worships.
One of our favourite things to do is learn new songs and prayers that reflect the wide variety of Christian values and how these affect us as we go about our lives in school and at home. Our children often present special class assemblies on particular Christian themes, and we also learn about the importance of other faiths and world cultures too.
St Edith’s is a small yet stunning gem of a church in beautiful rural surroundings. A Grade 1 listed building, it’s so old we’re not exactly sure when it was built and could date back to Viking times! (There is a mysterious carving in church which could be a representation of a Norse God!)
We really enjoy visiting St Edith’s Church for special services, which is a short drive away from school, but close enough to walk to over the fields! For more information on St Edith’s and Rev Tim Robinson and Rev Norma Robinson, please visit St Edith’s website here.
